On May 19th and 20th, nearly fourteen hundred visitors came to meet nearly one hundred picture suppliers at the Barbican Exhibition Hall 1. As well as a different venue, visitors were also greeted with a range of new features, including our Digital Gallery and the new-look BAPLA Village area.

Our seminar programme was a huge success too. Google Images headlined a great line up which was looking at ‘The Future of Content’. And there’s more on the promises Google Images made to UK picture suppliers and buyers here.

And despite the dire economic situation, visitors still highlighted the absolute need for high quality images. In fact, we found that for every ten people who attended BAPLA’s PBF 2010, six of them were there to see new image suppliers! 65% cited that as their reason for being at the Barbican Exhibition Hall this year – compared to 40% in 2009.

We welcomed buyers from Design, Advertising and PR, Book Publishing, Magazine Publishing, New Media and Web Design, Charity, Government and Public Sector and many other sectors. It was great to see so many new faces at the show as well as our established friends.

The BAPLA board is currently weighing up feedback and conducting further research in order to make a decision about the next chapter of PBF – so watch this space!
